SERIAL PORT DEBUGGING BM622M AND BM623M

All modem release today has a serial port debugging capability. In our case we have the hauwei modem bm622m and bm623m, other device such bm622 and bm622i also have this but you need a soldering skills to perform this.



PROCEDURE AND TOOLS NEEDED

1. YOU NEED A SERIAL USB DEVICE A USB 2.0 TO TTL UART 6PIN (OR 4 PIN) SERIAL CONVERTER CP2102 OR A NOKIA SERIAL USB CA-42 CABLE OLD NOKIA PHONES USE THIS CABLE.



2.OPEN YOU MODEM LOCATE THE DEBUGGING AREA AND PLACE THE PINS ON RXD,TXD AND GROUND YOU MAY REFER TO THE IMAGES FOR PLACING OF THE PIN




.
3. OPEN PUTTY SELECT SERIAL OR YOU MAY USE LINUX OS AND INSTALL MINICOM
SET THE SPEED TO 115200

4. IF YOU GET THE TXD, RXD AND GRND CORRECTLY YOU ARE NOW ON REDBOOT



5. WHAT YOU WILL DO FROM HERE IS DEFENDS ON WHAT YOUR DEVICE PROBLEM BASICALLY YOU CAN DO ANYTHING HERE TO REPAIR YOUR DEVICE. CHANGE AND OTHER THINGS YOU DO VIA TELNET CAN ALSO BE DONE HERE WITH ADVANCE OPTION.
